Time will tell

Time will tell

Timing is everything, and it can change our lives in the most unexpected ways. From meeting someone new to making a big decision, patience and awareness are key. In today's fast-paced world, it's important to be in touch with our intuition and take breaks to boost our performance.

RE:

day today, for a refreshing change. I posted a post, and also made some long-overdue changes to my subscriptions, including letting go of some paid ones that I dont follow as much anymore. Also, Sarah and I worked on a long-term budget for us, and I actually fully participated and didnt have an emotional meltdown. This is actually huge. So, on balance, its been a great day.

Good things...

several deer running through the woods out back, first wildlife I've seen in months (used to be quite common: deer, fox, groundhogs, rabbits, turkeys, etc. birds & squirrels don't count)
another beautiful day in NEPA
Go Cubbies!! Shota Imanaga #18!
accepted last estimate for HVAC/water heater replacement: very local plumber, well known to my family (July)
Mothers Day flowers set for delivery to two daughters (South Carolina, Texas)

Three good things...

Driving Baby Blue
Chinese take out for supper
Cubs baseball, and MLB.tv

Some good things.

the weather and natural beauty here in NEPA
I'm still kickin' it
driving Baby Blue (2012 Mazda MX5 Miata)
making chicken marsala for supper
my Cubbies are doing well

Hope you're enjoying your weekend to the full!

Good Things

Look at this beauty!
After three years, our clematis finally flowers. Worth the wait

First undergrad honors thesis for my current lab was successfully defended today. ::happy dance:: I have done many of them over the years but this is the first one for me at this school, and she did a great job!!

May I bring your attention to the fabulous marketing of the Aquarium of the Pacific and their animal pals. This song contains the BEST lyric ever written, smell an otters shrimpy pits which runs around my head forever now

And this medical exam video is delightful (and educational!)

Today's joy: Being serenaded by my husband

More good things for today:

1. Cuddles with a puppy

2. Snacks

3. Watching YouTube with my loves

The images of the moon from Artemis 2 were pretty amazing. The splash down today was a nice piece of non- apocalyptic news! And Wellington Zoo is 120 years old today.

A pumpkin weighing 1221kg won an award last month:

Sometimes things work out well.

10:30 AM, I'm doing spreadsheet work for my taxes and realizing that with my new computer I'm missing the extra monitor space I had with a laptop + monitor setup.

An hour later I have a new monitor of exactly the size and cost I wanted. It's set up, and working with little effort.

Too easy - waiting for the pendulum to swing back the other way.

Went bicycling today (finally cool enough, only got up to 79F), and came home with a bag of potting soil (brand new, free out on the curb with a "free" sign on it) and an orange, which had rolled off a tree into the road. ("serious cyclist" I am not). Luckily had a backpack when I ran into the potting soil. Juggling the orange home was not ideal, finally managed to cram it in one of the pockets in my cargo shorts. (and it's now being eaten lol)

Verse of the Day: Good Things - Psalm 84:11
For the Lord God is a sun and shield
the Lord bestows favor and honor
no good thing does he withhold
from those whose walk is blameless.

Well, this week has so far involved a seizure from Jarrah (he missed a dose of his medication, which doesn't bode well for reducing it over the next month, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it), a night of digestive issues for me, and a call from Dad late this afternoon, who thankfully didn't need the hospital this time (probably just dehydrated and low blood sugar I went over and made him a cuppa and a sandwich).

It's Tuesday. Wtf. I'm putting in an order for less drama for the rest of the week please.

However! Good things are happening all the same:

+ Kid4 has been playing Diablo 2 and loving it and keeps asking me stuff and last night we had a chat about some things (waypoints and identifying items) and he said, 'It's so great to be finally playing a game that I can talk to you about!' (because I play few games, but Diablo 2 is one of my very faves)

+ we have a hot day forecast tomorrow but after that, hopefully it'll be into cooler weather

+ the kitchen stayed clean until the weekend! I say 'stayed clean' I mean, I kept it clean. Obviously it's a bit messy now given the last couple of days but I feel like it's not overwhelming. Also, the fam is helping with this yay for a virtuous circle

+ fit in a good trumpet practice before Dad called. I missed so many days last week and I really noticed the difference in my lesson

+ I ordered a record for my birthday soon and it arrived and I'm so delighted

Good things today:
- Felt a lot better than I have been this week
- Went to the gym and did a proper yoga session
- Did some of the life admin I'd been putting off due to not feeling great
- Batch-cooked a soup

Good Evening

Today has been full of good things:

I saw Yougest and met his new girlfriend (who is absolutely lovely).
The sun was shining.
I went for a walk.
I did some study.
Snuggles with Tiny Dog
Messing about online with friends.

So many good things.

Today has been a good day.

I didn't get any study done, but that's ok.
I did have a lie in and a restful morning before meeting a good friend for a cuppa.

Then afterwards I came home, and snuggled up on the sofa with Husband and Tiny Dog before playing some games (Rummikub and Qwirkle) and doing some crochet.

It's been a wonderfully restful day.

Evening,

Today I am grateful:
- that my Eldest got home without mishap
- that I managed to do a small amount of study
- that I had the time and space to nap safely
- that the sun shone brightly through my window
- that there are daffodils growing in my garden

These small things are worth concentrating on, because these are the things I can do something with, and enjoy.
I cannot do anything about the global situation and so I choose to look just into my bubble and do what I can to make my little sphere a better space for me and those around me.

Good things this week:

- Lovely dinner with a friend
- Work event went well
- Went to a brilliant gig
- Did a bit of litter-picking and seed sowing with Cathays Wild Gardeners

Starting tomorrow, the fish doorbell is active again. Watch the lifecam and ring the bell when you see fish, so they can cross a lock in the Oudesluis in Utrecht!

After about a month in hospital and all the snowstorms and physiotherapy I had kinda forgotten about my little flower mascot from the of 2025, after all that...

The petals are STILL HANGING IN THERE. New plant based should def be a thing, might have to water it or something this year.

1) morning walk! Im not missing the ice, no siree
2) I gave a great impromptu Joan of Arc lecture yesterday, and the students leaned forward to listen!
3) a whole day ahead for which *I* control the rhythm!

I havent posted (or scrolled!) here much recently, but here are some good things from the past few days.

- Im halfway through a trial period off some meds and my fatigue has definitely reduced
- after feeling weak and shaky for a few days, Mum is making a good recovery from last weeks fall
- I went along to the volunteer session at the native plant nursery for the first time this year, lovely to be back and see my friends there
- I saw a heron on my walk today
- delicious homegrown tomatoes for lunch, delicious fritters from zucchini grown by Mum for tea
- I read some great books (see my previous post)
- I levelled up in Pokemon Go!

This is how a real statesman acts - with class, simpatico. A Votre Sant!
